“Experience a fresh perspective on Frida Kahlo’s compelling life story through her most intimate personal belongings. This exhibition presents an extraordinary collection of personal artefacts and clothing belonging to the iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Locked away for 50 years after her death, this collection has never before been exhibited outside Mexico. “

I designed and art directed these frames for the Frida Kahlo – Making Herself Up promotional trailer for the V&A’s hugely popular 2018 exhibition. I drew inspiration from the Tehuana embroidery that Kahlo favoured so much, as well as the Blue House in which she spent most of her life. I also wanted to reference the surreal nature of her work.
